Mein Mashup Video “Who is Calling?” hat eine Auszeichnung im internationalen Wettbewerb “Best Shorts Film Competition” erhalten.
In der Kategorie “Award of Merit” wurde das Video als “außergewöhnliche künstlerische und handwerkliche Produktion” bewertet und ist der einzige Wettbewerbsbeitrag aus dem Bereich “Remixes / Mashup”, der es in die Bewertungsrunde der Jury geschafft hat.
Der “Best Shorts Competition” (bestshorts.net/ San Diego, Kalifornien) ist kein traditionelles Filmfestival, sondern ein internationaler Wettbewerb, der sowohl renommierte Unternehmen als auch talentierte neue Filmemacher einlädt.
Die Jury besteht aus internen Mitarbeitern und aus Branchenexperten, zu denen auch Nominierte und Empfänger von Emmy-, Telly- und Communicator-Preisen gehören. Die Beiträge treten nicht wie üblich auf Festivals gegeneinander an, sondern werden anhand eines hohen Leistungsstandards und einer definierten Leistungsskala bewertet.
In die Bewertung fließt unter anderem ein, inwiefern ein Film zu herausragender Unterhaltung oder zu einem tiefgreifenden sozialen Wandel beitragen kann. Die Gewinner werden mit einem “Award of Excellence”, einem “Award of Merit” oder einem “Award of Recognition” ausgezeichnet.
Einsendungen erfolgen vornehmlich aus den USA und aus rund 40 weiteren Ländern.

Video „Who is Calling?“ awarded in the Best Shorts Film Competition
My mashup video „Who is Calling?“ has received an award in the international competition „Best Shorts Film Competition“.
In the „Award of Merit“ category, the video was judged as „exceptional artistic and craft production“ and is the only competition entry from the „Remixes / Mashup“ section to make it to the jury’s evaluation round.
The „Best Shorts Competition“ (bestshorts.net/ San Diego, California) is not a traditional film festival, but an international competition that invites both renowned companies and talented new filmmakers.
The jury is made up of in-house staff and industry experts that include Emmy, Telly and Communicator award nominees and recipients. Entries do not compete against each other at festivals, as is usually the case, but are judged against a high standard of achievement and a defined performance scale.
Among other things, the evaluation takes into account the extent to which a film can contribute to outstanding entertainment or profound social change. Winners are presented with an „Award of Excellence,“ an „Award of Merit,“ or an „Award of Recognition.“
Entries come primarily from the U.S. and about 40 other countries.
